Made: 22nd April 1983

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 80(2) of the Criminal Justice Act 1982, I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (Commencement No. 2) (Amendment) Order 1983.

In Appendix B to the Schedule to the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1983, in the entry relating to section 38(5) of the Criminal Justice Act 1961, for the words “and (b)” there shall be substituted the words “, (b) and (bb)”.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1983 which brings into force on 24th May 1983 (in places outside Scotland) specified provisions of the 1982 Act, by adding to those provisions the repeal of paragraph (bb) of section 38(5) of the Criminal Justice Act 1961 (which paragraph was inserted by Article 2(1)(d) of the Criminal Justice and Armed Forces (Northern Ireland Consequential Amendments) Order 1980 (S.I. 1980/1088) and relates to orders for detention in a young offenders centre made in Northern Ireland).
