Made: 3rd May 1983

The Secretary of State for the Environment, in relation to England, the Secretary of State for Scotland, in relation to Scotland, and the Secretary of State for Wales, in relation to Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by paragraph 3 of Schedule 17 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby order as follows:—

This order may be cited as the Community Land Act 1975 (Appointed Day for Repeal) Order 1983.

In England, Scotland and Wales the appointed day for the purpose of the repeal of the provisions of the Community Land Act 1975 mentioned in paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 17 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980 shall be 1st June 1983.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Schedule 17 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980 provides for the repeal of the Community Land Act 1975. Certain provisions were repealed on the passing of the 1980 Act and other provisions listed in paragraph 3(2) of Schedule 17 to the Act of 1980, which were required to enable the community land scheme to be wound up, were to be repealed on a day appointed for the purpose by an order made by the Secretary of State. This order appoints 1st June 1983 as the appointed day in England, Scotland and Wales for all the provisions of the Act of 1975 not yet repealed.
