Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 735(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Confirmation of Legislation) (Isle of Man) Order 1984 and shall come into operation on 31st August 1984.

The Merchant Shipping (Registration) Act 1984 (an Act of Tynwald) is hereby confirmed.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Merchant Shipping (Registration) Act 1984 (an Act of Tynwald) repeals, in relation to the registration of ships in the Isle of Man, certain provision made by Part I of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 (an Act of Parliament) regarding such registration. This Order is made in pursuance of section 735(1) of that Act of Parliament and confirms the Act of Tynwald.
