Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 94 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1970, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Metrication) (Isle of Man) Order 1984 and shall come into operation on 31st August 1984.

It is hereby directed that the provisions of the Merchant Shipping (Metrication) Regulations 1973 shall extend to the Isle of Man, with the exceptions, adaptations and modifications specified in the Schedule to this Order, as part of the law of the Isle of Man.

SCHEDULE — EXCEPTIONS, ADAPTATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS TO THE MERCHANT SHIPPING (METRICATION) REGULATIONS 1973 AS EXTENDED TO THE ISLE OF MAN

Any reference to an enactment shall be construed, unless the contrary intention appears, as a reference to it as it has effect in the Isle of Man.

In paragraph (1) of Regulation 1, all the words from “and shall” to the end shall be omitted.

In paragraph (1)(b) of Regulation 2, for “the 1st day of January 1974” there shall be substituted “31st August 1984”.

Regulation 3 shall be omitted.
