The National Heritage Act 1983 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1984
Made: 29th February 1984
The Lord President of the Council, in exercise of the power conferred by section 41(1) and (4) of the National Heritage Act 1983 and vested in him[^f00001], hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the National Heritage Act 1983 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1984.

The provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order (which relate to the matters specified in column 2 thereof) shall come into force on the 1st April 1984.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into force those provisions of the National Heritage Act 1983 relating to the Boards of Trustees of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum and to the Directors of the two Museums which have not previously been brought into force. The Order also brings into force the provisions in the 1983 Act for the repeal of section 47(1) of the Patents and Designs Act 1907 and the entries relating to the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum in Part I of the Table in paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Public Records Act 1958.
In addition to the sections of the 1983 Act listed in the Schedule, the Order brings into force the rest of Schedule 1 to the Act and completes the repeals in Schedule 6 not provided for in earlier commencement orders.
