Made: 24th July 1985
The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 7(2) of the Ports (Finance) Act 1985 (hereinafter called “the Act”) hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Ports (Finance) Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1985.

Sections 1, 2, 6 and 7 of the Act shall come into operation on 5th August 1985.
3
Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Act shall come into operation on 1st January 1986.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings sections 1, 2, 6 and 7 of the Ports (Finance) Act 1985 into force on 5th August 1985, and the remaining sections, namely sections 3, 4 and 5 on 1st January 1986.
