The Secretary of State, in exercise of his power under section 3(1) of the Oil and Pipelines Act 1985, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Oil and Pipelines Act 1985 (Appointed Day) Order 1985.

The 1st December 1985 is hereby appointed as the transfer date for the purposes of section 3(1) of the Oil and Pipelines Act 1985.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order appoints 1st December 1985 as the date on which the transfer prescribed by section 3(1) of the Oil and Pipelines Act 1985 shall take place. Section 3, Schedule 2 and Part I of Schedule 4 to the Act will come into force on that date by virtue of the provisions of section 8(3).
