Made: 13th February 1985

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 15(2) of the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982 (Commencement) Order 1985.

The Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982 shall come into force on 14th March 1985.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force on 14th March 1985 the Merchant Shipping (Liner Conferences) Act 1982. The Act enables the United Kingdom to implement the 1974 Convention on a Code of Conduct for Liner Conferences which is scheduled to the Act.
