Coming into Operation: 1st April 1986
In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13(3) of the Local Government Act 1985, I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Coroner's Districts (Designation of Relevant Councils) Order 1985 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1986.

The councils listed in the Schedule to this Order are hereby designated for the purposes of section 13 of the Local Government Act 1985 (arrangements for coroners' service in Greater London and metropolitan counties) as the relevant councils for the coroners' districts also listed there.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order designates, for a coroner's district in a metropolitan county or Greater London which comprises the areas of two or more district or borough councils, one of those councils to be the “relevant council” for that coroner's district and so to be responsible for the administration of the coroner's service in the whole of that district.
