Made: 26th March 1985

Laid before Parliament: 1st April 1985

Coming into Operation: 22nd April 1985

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 99(1) of the Supreme Court Act 1981, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 1985 and shall come into operation on the 22nd April 1985.

A district registry of the High Court shall be established at Harlow, to which shall be assigned the districts of the Bishop's Stortford, Harlow and Hertford County Courts.

Accordingly the Civil Courts Order 1983[^f00001] shall be amended as follows:—

First Column Second Column
Harlow Bishop's Stortford Harlow Hertford

and in the entry relating to Cambridge, the words “Bishop's Stortford” and in the entry relating to Luton, the word “Hertford” shall be deleted.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order establishes a district registry of the High Court at Harlow and assigns to it the districts of the Bishop's Stortford, Harlow and Hertford County Courts.
