The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by paragraph 13 of Schedule 1 to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985, hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985 (Appointed Day) (No. 1) Order 1986.

20th July 1986 shall be the appointed day for the purposes of paragraph 13 of Schedule 1 to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation on 20th July 1986 paragraph 13 of Schedule 1 to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985. This provision provides for the closure of the parts of the National Savings Stock Register kept by trustees of the existing trustee savings banks and the transfer of all the stock registered in those parts to that part of the Register kept by the Director of Savings.
