The Gas Act 1986 (Nominated Company) Order 1986
Made: 28th July 1986
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 49(2) of the Gas Act 1986 and after consulting the British Gas Corporation, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Gas Act 1986 (Nominated Company) Order 1986.

The company nominated for the purpose of section 49 of the Gas Act 1986 is British Gas public limited company (registered number 2006000).

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Section 49(1) of the Gas Act 1986 provides that, on a day appointed by the Secretary of State, all the property, rights and liabilities to which the British Gas Corporation was entitled or subject immediately before that date shall (subject to section 50 (British Gas Stock) of that Act) become by virtue of that section property, rights and liabilities of a company nominated for the purposes of the section by the Secretary of State.
This Order nominates for that purpose British Gas public limited company.
