Made: 27th November 1986

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 41 of the Public Order Act 1986, I hereby make the following Order:—

The provisions of the 1986 Act specified in the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on 1st January 1987.

SCHEDULE

Provisions of the Act Subject matter of provisions
1. Section 11 Advance notice of public processions.
2. Section 16 Interpretation.
3. Section 38 Contamination of or interference with goods with the intention of causing public alarm or anxiety, etc.
4. (1) Section 40(1) Amendments in Schedule 1 to the 1986 Act.
(2) Section 40(2), insofar as it gives effect to paragraph 3(1) and (2) of Schedule 2 to the 1986 Act. Amendments in paragraph 3(1) and (2) of Schedule 2 to the 1986 Act.
(3) Section 40(3), insofar as it gives effect to the entries in Schedule 3 to the 1986 Act mentioned in paragraph 10 below. Repeal of enactments mentioned in Schedule 3 to the 1986 Act to the extent indicated in paragraph 10 below.
5. Section 41 Commencement.
6. Section 42 Extent.
7. Section 43 Short title.
8. Schedule 1 Amendments to the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 and Part V of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980.
9. Paragraph 3(1) and (2) of Schedule 2 Amendments to section 62 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.
10. In Schedule 3, the entries relating to: the Erith Tramways and Improvement Act 1903, the Middlesex County Council Act 1944, the County of South Glamorgan Act 1976, the County of Merseyside Act 1980, the West Midlands County Council Act 1980, the Cheshire County Council Act 1980, the Isle of Wight Act 1980 the Greater Manchester Act 1981 the East Sussex Act 1981, section 62(10) of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985. Repeals.
