The Land Registration Act 1986 (Commencement) Order 1986
Made: 3rd December 1986
The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6(4) of the Land Registration Act 1986, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Land Registration Act 1986 (Commencement) Order 1986.

The Land Registration Act 1986 shall come into force on 1st January 1987.

Explanatory note
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into force on 1st January 1987 the Land Registration Act 1986. This Act simplifies and modernises three areas of the law of land registration: conversion of title, registration and protection of leases, and the method of determining priority of dealings in certain equitable interests in registered land.
