Coming into force: 2nd July 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17, 19 and 108 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The M40 London—Oxford—Birmingham Motorway (Waterstock to Warwick Section) and Connecting Roads (No 1) Scheme 1984[^f00003] (hereinafter referred to as “the principal scheme”) is hereby varied so that—

For the purposes of article 3 of the principal scheme (date on which special roads are to become trunk roads), in relation to the special road along the route shown on the map lettered C2 in the deposited plan the date shall be date when this Scheme comes into force.

This Scheme shall come into force on 2nd July 1987 and may be cited as the M40 London—Oxford—Birmingham Motorway (Waterstock to Warwick Section) and Connecting Roads (No 1) Scheme 1984 Variation Scheme 1987.
