The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975[^f00001], and section 168(1) of, and Schedule 20 to, the Social Security Act 1975[^f00002] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following regulations:
Citation and commencement

These regulations, which may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) Amendment Regulations 1987, amend the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979[^f00003] and shall come into force on 6th April 1987.
Amendment of regulation 7 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979

In regulation 7 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 (lower and upper earnings limits for Class 1 contributions)—
- (a) for the words “6th April 1986” there shall be substituted the words “6th April 1987”; and
- (b) for “£38” and “£285” there shall be substituted respectively “£39” and “£295”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations further amend the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 by increasing the weekly lower and upper earnings limits for Class 1 contributions for the tax year beginning 6th April 1987.
