The Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Amendment) Order 1987

Made: 25th August 1987

Laid before Parliament: 4th September 1987

Coming into force: 30th September 1987

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9(3) of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 30th September 1987.

Paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 2 to the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) Order 1985 [^f00002] and paragraph 2 of Part III of that Schedule shall be amended by—

• (a) inserting in sub-paragraph (a) of each of those paragraphs, after the word “European”, the words “Champion Clubs' ”; and

• (b) inserting in sub-paragraph (b) of each of those paragraphs, after the word “the”, the word “European”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) Order 1985 (which designates sports grounds and sporting events for the purposes of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985) by substituting the current full formal titles of certain competitions referred to therein. The change is purely one of nomenclature, not of substance.
