Made: 26th August 1987

Coming into force: 24th September 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

In this Order—

2 i “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/2 SW M45 marked “The Exeter—Launceston—Bodmin Trunk Road (A30) (Alder Quarry Realignment) Order 1987” signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
ii “the new trunk road” means the highway mentioned in article 1 of this Order; and
iii “the Trunk Road” means the Exeter—Launceston—Bodmin Trunk Road (A30).

This Order shall come into force on 24th September 1987 and may be cited as the Exeter—Launceston—Bodmin Trunk Road (A30) (Alder Quarry Realignment) Order 1987.

SCHEDULE — ROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD

The route of the new trunk road is a route at Alder in the County of Devon about 220 metres in length, starting at a point on the Trunk Road about 140 metres south-west of its junction with the unclassified road to Widdacombe proceeding in a generally south-westerly direction and ending at a point on the Trunk Road about 360 metres south-west of that junction.
