Made: 19th October 1987

The Lord Advocate, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 109(2) of the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987([^f00001]), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987 (Commencement No.1) Order 1987.

The following provisions of the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987 shall come into force on 2nd November 1987:—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 2nd November 1987 sections 75, 76 and 97 of the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987. Section 75 confers power on the Court of Session to make rules in relation to Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers. Section 76 establishes the Advisory Council on Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers. Section 97 extends the power of the Court of Session to make rules as to representation of parties in Sheriff Court proceedings under the Act.
