The Lord President of the Council, in exercise of powers conferred by section 3(7) of the Public Lending Right Act 1979[^f00001] and now vested in him[^f00002] and after consulting with representatives of authors and library authorities and of others who appear likely to be affected, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Public Lending Right Scheme 1982 (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 10th December 1987.

Article 46 of the Public Lending Right Scheme 1982[^f00003] (determination of the sum due in respect of public lending right) shall be amended in paragraph (1)(a) by substituting “1.12p.” for “1.20p.”.

The Public Lending Right Scheme 1982 (Amendment) Order 1986[^f00004] is hereby revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the provisions of the Public Lending Right Scheme under which the amount (if any) payable in respect of loans of a particular book from public libraries in a particular year is calculated. The sum attributed to each loan for the purpose of the calculation is changed from 1.20p to 1.12p.
