Made: 10th March 1987

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8(5)(a) of the National Health Service (Amendment) Act 1986[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (Amendment) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1987.

Section 3 of the National Health Service (Amendment) Act 1986 shall come into force on 1st April 1987.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1st April 1987 section 3 of the National Health Service (Amendment) Act 1986. That section concerns pharmaceutical services provided under Part II of the National Health Service Act 1977 (c. 49) and under Part II of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 (c. 29) and, in particular, substitutes new sections 42 and 27(2) to (5) respectively of those Acts.
