At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 18th day of March 1987 Present, The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by sections 3(3) and 5 of the Taking of Hostages Act 1982[^f00001], sections 2, 17 and 21 of the Extradition Act 1870[^f00002], and section 17 of the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967[^f00003], or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

This Order may be cited as the Taking of Hostages (Anguilla) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 17th April 1987.

The Taking of Hostages Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 1982[^f00004] is amended—

The Extradition (Taking of Hostages) Order 1985[^f00005] is amended by the insertion of Anguilla in Schedule 4 thereto (territories to which the Order extends).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order extends to Anguilla sections 3 and 4 of the Taking of Hostages Act 1982, as modified and adapted in Schedule 1 to the Taking of Hostages Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 1982. The said sections 3 and 4 amend the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967, as extended to Anguilla. The Order also extends to Anguilla the amendments made by the 1982 Act to the Extradition Acts 1870 to 1895.
