In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 2(1) of the Welsh Language Act 1967[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Communities) (Welsh Forms) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 6th April 1987.

Each of the forms set out in Part I of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the Welsh version of the corresponding form specified in English at the head of the version, being a form set out in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Parish and Communities) Rules 1986[^f00002], which may be used in connection with the election of a community councillor in Wales.

The form set out in Part II of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the Welsh version which may be used by the chairman, vice-chairman or councillor of a community council in Wales, in place of the declaration of acceptance of office as set out in Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Elections (Parish and Communities) Rules 1986.

Each of the forms set out in Part III of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the version partly in Welsh and partly in English which shall be used in connection with the election of a community councillor in Wales in place of the official poll cards or voting compartment notice set out in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986.

The forms set out in the Schedule to this Order may be used with such modifications as circumstances require.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Parts I and II of the Schedule to this Order prescribe the Welsh version of certain forms to be used in connection with community elections in Wales. Part III of the Schedule prescribes forms partly in Welsh and partly in English which must be used for the purposes specified in Article 4 of this Order.
