The Broadcasting (Extension of Duration of IBA’s Function) Order 1987
Made: 6th April 1987
Coming into force in accordance with article 1
Now, therefore, in exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 2(5) of the Broadcasting Act 1981[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Extension of Duration of IBA’s Function) Order 1987 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

In section 2(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1981 [^f00002], for the words “31st December 2001” there shall be substituted the words “31st December 2005”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends section 2(1) of the Broadcasting Act 1981 by substituting, for 31st December 2001, 31st December 2005 as the date up to which the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has the function of providing television and local sound broadcasting services.
