Made: 1st April 1987

Coming into force: 24th April 1987

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 50(4) of the Animal Health Act 1981[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, Orders as follows:—

Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Designation of Local Authority (Portsmouth Port Health District) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 24th April 1987.

Interpretation

In this Order:—

In relation to the Portsmouth Port Health District the local authority for the purpose of the provisions of the Animal Health Act 1981 relating to imported animals shall be the Portsmouth Port Health Authority.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order applies to the Portsmouth Port Health District (being those parts of the County of Hampshire which come under the jurisdiction of Portsmouth Port Health Authority) and makes that Authority (which is the Portsmouth District Council) the local authority in respect of the Portsmouth Port Health District for the purposes of the provisions of the Animal Health Act 1981 which relate to imported animals.
