The Sumburgh Airport Licensing (Liquor) Order 1987

Coming into force: 7th May 1987

Now therefore the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 63(1) of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976[^f00002], hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Sumburgh Airport Licensing (Liquor) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 7th May 1987.

Section 63 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976 is hereby brought into operation at Sumburgh Airport.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Section 63(2) of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 1976 provides that, at an airport where that section is in operation, neither section 54 nor section 119 of that Act (which prohibit the sale or supply of alcoholic liquor except during permitted hours) nor any provision or rule of law prohibiting or restricting the sale or supply of alcoholic liquor on Sunday shall apply to licensed premises which are within the examination station approved for the airport under section 16 of the Customs and Excise Act 1952 (c. 44). Section 16 of the Customs and Excise Act 1952 was repealed by the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 and replaced by section 22 of that Act. This Order brings section 63 of the 1976 Act into operation at Sumburgh Airport.
