The Education (School Information) (Amendment) Regulations 1988

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 8(5) of the Education Act 1980[^f00001] the Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Information) (Amendment) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 18th July 1988.

In paragraph 15(1)(d) of Schedule 2 to the Education (School Information) Regulations 1981[^f00002] there shall be substituted for the words “in relation to the summer examinations at ordinary or advanced level for the General Certificate of Education and the examinations for the Certificate of Secondary Education held in a specified school year”, the words “in relation to the summer examinations for the General Certificate of Education at ordinary level, the Certificate of Secondary Education, the General Certificate of Secondary Education, and the advanced and advanced supplementary levels of the General Certificate of Education held in a specified school year”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend paragraph 15(1)(d) of Schedule 2 to the Education (School Information) Regulations 1981 by including references in that paragraph to the General Certificate of Secondary Education and the advanced supplementary level of the General Certificate of Education. This will mean that the information relating to the grades obtained in public examinations required to be published under that paragraph will include information relating to these new public examinations.
