The Post Office Register (Trustee Savings Banks) (Revocation) Regulations 1988

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 3 of the National Debt Act 1972[^f00001] and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Post Office Register (Trustee Savings Banks) (Revocation) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 28th July 1988.

The Regulations set out in the Schedule to these Regulations are hereby revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke the Post Office Register (Trustee Savings Banks) Regulations 1930 together with the related amending instruments.

The revocation is consequential upon the closure on 20th July 1986 of the parts of the National Savings Stock Register (known as the Post Office Register until the Post Office Act 1969 (c. 48)) kept by trustee savings banks.
