Made: 15th January 1988

Coming into force: 25th February 1988

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The Secretary of State is authorised to provide for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 a special road along the route described in the Schedule to this scheme.

The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

The special road shall become a trunk road on the date when this scheme comes into operation.

This Scheme shall come into force on 25th February 1988, and may be cited as the M53 Motorway (Southern Terminal Roundabout Section) Scheme 1988.

SCHEDULE — ROUTE OF THE SPECIAL ROAD

A route about 0.48 kilometres in length, starting at a point 120 metres north west of the north west carriageway edge of the A56/M53 roundabout at Hoole and proceeding in a generally south easterly direction and ending 230 metres south east of the south east carriageway edge of the A56/M53 roundabout at Hoole.
