The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of, as read with paragraph 3 of Schedule 3 to, the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act 1968 [^f00001], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Lyon Court and Office Fees (Variation) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st November 1988.

The fees for the matters listed in Schedule B to the Lyon King of Arms Act 1867 [^f00002] (and repeated in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order) shall be increased for every matter except the last two on the list, by substituting in Schedule B for the fees payable before the coming into operation of this Order (and repeated in column 2 of the Schedule to this Order) the fees specified for these matters in column 3 of the Schedule to this Order.

The Lyon Court and Office Fees (Variation) Order 1986 [^f00003] is hereby revoked.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order increases the fees for the matters listed in Schedule B to the Lyon King of Arms Act 1867, other than for the appointment of a herald or pursuivant. The fees were last increased in 1986. These fees are exclusive of stamp duty when stamp duty is exigible.
