The Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988
Made: 29th February 1988
Laid before Parliament: 10th March 1988
Coming into force: 1st April 1988
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(2) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order to give effect to the proposals of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland as submitted to him:
Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988, and shall come into force on 1st April 1988.
Interpretation

In this Order—
- “the 1977 Regulations” means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977([^f00002]); and
- “boundary map” means the map prepared by the Scottish Office, marked “The Tayside, Fife and Central Regions and Perth and Kinross, Dunfermline and Clackmannan Districts (Solsgirth) Boundaries Amendment Order 1988 Map” and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations;
and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a boundary of a region is a reference to a boundary existing immediately before the commencement of this Order.
Application of Regulations

Save insofar as they can have no application in relation to the area changes effected by this Order, the provisions of the 1977 Regulations shall apply in relation thereto for the purposes of, or in consequence of, this Order.
Area changes

- (1) Part of Perth and Kinross District in Tayside Region, being the Area A described in the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked “Area A” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Clackmannan District in Central Region.
- (2) Part of Dunfermline District in Fife Region, being the Area B described in the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked “Area B” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Clackmannan District in Central Region.
Consequential changes of electoral arrangements

- (1) Area A described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4(1) of this Order)—
- (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 46 (Kinross) of Tayside Region([^f00003]) and of ward 28 (West Kinross) of Perth and Kinross District([^f00004]); and
- (b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Forthbank) of Central Region([^f00005]) and of ward 4 (Clackmannan) of Clackmannan District([^f00006]).
- (2) Area B described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4(2) of this Order)—
- (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 30 (Dunfermline Linburn) of Fife Region([^f00007]) and of ward 4 (Saline Oakley) of Dunfermline District([^f00008]); and
- (b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Forthbank) of Central Region and of ward 4 (Clackmannan) of Clackmannan District.
SCHEDULE
Area A
The area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Central/Tayside regional boundary grid reference NS 9819 9463, northeastwards then southeastwards by boundary fence to a point on the Tayside/Fife regional boundary grid reference NS 9854 9458, then southwestwards along that regional boundary to a point grid reference NS 9842 9445, then northwestwards along the existing Central/Tayside regional boundary to the point of commencement.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order transfers areas extending to apporixmately 8 acres and 23 acres at Solsgirth from Perth and Kinross District in Tayside Region and Dunfermline District in Fife Region respectively to Clackmannan District in Central Region and makes consequential changes to electoral arrangements.
The map annexed to and forming part of this note gives a general guide to the areas affected by this Order as from 1st April 1988.
Copies of the detailed boundary map defined in article 2 of this Order may be inspected at the offices of any of the local authorities referred to in this Order, and may be inspected at or purchased from the Scottish Development Department’s Map Library, New St. Andrew’s House, St. James Centre, Edinburgh, EH1 3SZ.
