Made: 23rd March 1988

Coming into force: 1st May 1988

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33(3) of the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975[^f00001] (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after giving those persons affected an opportunity of being heard with respect to the matter, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st May 1988.

For the purposes of Part III of the Act—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates British Gas p.l.c. and Hydrocarbons Great Britain Limited as the owners of the pipe-lines described in Schedules 1 and 2 respectively. In the case of pipe-lines with a landfall the designation applies only to those parts which are in controlled waters, that is, the territorial sea and areas designated under the Continental Shelf Act 1964 (c. 29).
