Coming into force: 1st July 1988
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33(3) of the Petroleum and Submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975[^f00001] (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after giving those persons affected an opportunity of being heard with respect to the matter, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Submarine Pipe-lines (Designated Owners) (No. 12) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st July 1988.

For the purposes of Part III of the Act each person specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto is hereby designated as the owner of each pipe-line described in Part II of the Schedule.
SCHEDULE
PART I — DESIGNATED OWNERS
- ARCO British Ltd., whose principal place of business in the United Kingdom is at ARCO House, 48 Grosvenor Street, London WIX 0AN.
- Carless Exploration Ltd., whose registered office is at 90 Long Acre, London WC2E 9RG.
- Clyde Petroleum (Balmoral) Ltd., whose registered office is at 19 St Vincent Place, Glasgow G1 2TD.
- Deminex (UK) Balmoral Ltd., whose registered office is at Bowater House, 68 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LD.
- Goal Petroleum p.l.c., whose registered office is at New Bond Street House, 1 New Bond Street, London WIY 9PE.
- International Thomson p.l.c., whose registered office is at 25 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh EH2 4EZ.
- Sun Oil Britain Ltd., whose principal place of business in the United Kingdom is at 90 Long Acre, London WC2 9RG.
- Summit North Sea Oil Ltd., whose registered office is at 107 Cheapside, London EC2Y 6DQ.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates the companies listed in Part I of the Schedule as owners of the pipe-lines described in Part II of the Schedule. The pipe-lines are used in connection with production from the Balmoral oilfield, situated east of the Highland Region of Scotland.
