The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329 Relief Road Special Road Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329 Relief Road Special Road Scheme 1989 is hereby confirmed without modifications.

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY and at the offices of the County Council of Berkshire at Shire Hall, Shinfield Park, Reading, Berkshire.

The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

This Instrument may be cited as the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329 Relief Road Special Road Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989.

THE SCHEDULE — THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKSHIRE A329 RELIEF ROAD SPECIAL ROAD SCHEME 1988

The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under section 16 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all the other enabling powers:

1 The Council are authorised to provide along the route described in this Scheme a special road for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes set out in Schedule 4 to the said Act as amended.

2 The centre line of the special road is indicated by the heavy black line on the deposited plan.

3 In this Scheme: “the council” means the County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire; “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered 7052/PO2 and marked “The Royal County of Berkshire A329 Relief Road Special Road Scheme 1988” sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices of the Council at Shire Hall, Shinfield Park, Reading. A certified copy is also deposited at the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; “the special road” means the special road mentioned in article 1 of this Scheme and described in the Schedule to this Scheme.

4 This Scheme may be cited as The County Council of the Royal County of Berkshire A329 Relief Road Special Road Scheme 1988.

SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEME

The Route of the Special Road

A route starting on the A329M in the Town of Wokingham at a point marked A on the deposited plan and proceeding generally in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 495 metres and ending 280 metres southeast of the existing roundabout forming the junction of the A329M and London Road (A329) in the said Town at a point marked B on the deposited plan.
