The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The Cambridgeshire County Council (River Nene Old Course, Bodsey Bridge Reconstruction) Scheme 1989 is hereby confirmed without modifications.

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, 43 Marsham Street London SW1P 3PY and at the offices of the Huntingdonshire District Council, Pathfinder House, St Marys Street, Huntingdon.

The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

This Instrument may be cited as the Cambridgeshire County Council (River Nene Old Course, Bodsey Bridge Reconstruction) Scheme 1989 Confirmation Instrument 1989.

THE SCHEDULE TO THE INSTRUMENT — The Cambridgeshire County Council (River Nene Old Course, Bodsey Bridge Reconstruction) Scheme 1989

Cambridgeshire County Council hereinafter referred to as “the Council” make this scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers:

1 The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the River Nene (Old Course) the bridge specified in the schedule to this scheme as part of a highway namely the C86 known as the Ramsey to Ramsey Mereside Road in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire which the Council is proposing to construct from a point 8 metres south of the existing Bodsey Bridge in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire to a point 4 metres north of the existing Bodsey Bridge in the Parish of Ramsey in the County of Cambridgeshire.

2 This scheme may be cited as The Cambridgeshire County Council (River Nene Old Course, Bodsey Bridge Reconstruction) Scheme 1989.

Location

The Bridge will be situated at the site of the existing Bodsey Bridge which carried the C86 Ramsey to Ramsey Mereside Road over the River Nene (Old Course).
