The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and of all other enabling powers:

The Rochdale Borough Council (A627(M) Rochdale—Lancashire/Yorkshire Motorway (M62)—Oldham Special Roads) Revocation Scheme 1989 is hereby confirmed with modification.

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as “The Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of The Scheme, as modified, and accompanying plan, are deposited at the Department of Transport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY, at the office of the Department of Transport, North West Regional Office, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE, at the offices of the Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, The Esplanade, Rochdale; and at the offices of the Director of Legal Services, Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham.

The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

This Instrument may be cited as the Rochdale Borough Council (A627(M) Rochdale—Lancashire/Yorkshire Motorway (M62)—Oldham Special Roads) Revocation Scheme 1989 Confirmation Instrument 1989.

THE SCHEDULE 1 — THE ROCHDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL (A627(M), ROCHDALE—LANCA-SHIRE/YORKSHIRE MOTORWAY (M62)—OLDHAM SPECIAL ROADS) REVOCATION SCHEME 1989

THE ROCHDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL makes this Scheme in exercise of their powers under sections 16 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers; and as special road authority for that length of the special road known as “The A627(M) Rochdale—Lancashire/ Yorkshire Motorway (M62)—Oldham Special Road” and the connecting roads which lie within their area:—

The Scheme specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked to the extent specified in the second column of that Schedule.

This Scheme may be cited as the Rochdale Borough Council (A627(M) Rochdale—Lanca-shire/Yorkshire Motorway (M62)—Oldham Special Roads) Revocation Scheme 1989.
