In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7(2) of the Parliamentary and other Pensions Act 1987[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary and other Pensions Act 1987 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1989.

The provisions of the Parliamentary and other Pensions Act 1987, to the extent that they are not already then in force, shall come into force on 24th May 1989.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 24th May 1989 all the provisions of the Parliamentary and other Pensions Act 1987 except section 4(1) and (3) (which was brought into force on 23rd July 1987 by S.I. 1987/1311).
