The Housing (Revocation and Modification of Clearance Orders) Order 1990

Made: 17th August 1990

Coming into force: 19th September 1990

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 131(3) and (4) of the Housing Act 1974[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Housing (Revocation and Modification of Clearance Orders) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 19th September 1990.

The saving in paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Housing Act 1974 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1979[^f00002] shall cease to have effect in relation to the repeal of section 24 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Housing Act 1961[^f00003] except in relation to any order made under section 24 before 19th September 1990.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the saving made in the Housing Act 1974 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1979 in relation to the repeal by that Order of section 24 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Housing Act 1961. The saving enabled an order to be made under section 24 revoking or modifying a clearance order which had become operative under section 44 of the Housing Act 1957 (c. 56) before 9th October 1979.

The revocation of that saving by this Order does not have effect in relation to an order made under section 24 before 19th September 1990.
