In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 6(4) of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990 (Commencement) Order 1990.

The provisions of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990 (except section 2(2) thereof ) shall come into force forthwith.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force forthwith the provisions of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990 (“the Act of 1990”) except section 2(2) thereof (which relates to the loss of British Dependent Territories citizenship by those registered as British citizens under the Act of 1990).
