The Housing and Planning Act 1986 (Commencement No. 14) Order 1990
Made: 6th March 1990
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 57(2) of the Housing and Planning Act 1986[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Housing and Planning Act 1986 (Commencement No. 14) Order 1990.

Paragraph 39 (expenses of local inquiries) and paragraph 40 (orders as to expenses of parties where no local inquiry held) in Schedule 11 to the Housing and Planning Act 1986 shall come into force on 31st March 1990.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 31st March 1990 paragraphs 39 and 40 of Schedule 11 to the Housing and Planning Act 1986. These provisions relate to planning and local government matters in Scotland although the Order extends throughout the United Kingdom.
Paragraph 39 makes new provision regarding expenses of local inquiries by amending sections 267 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972 (c. 52) and 210 and 233 of (and also by inserting a new section 210A into) the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 (c. 65).
Paragraph 40 makes new provision regarding expenses in relation to proceedings which do not give rise to a local inquiry by inserting a new section, section 267A, into and amending paragraph 5 of Schedule 7 to, the 1972 Act.
