The A12 Trunk Road (Eastern Avenue East, Havering) (Prohibition of Use of Gap in Central Reservation) Order 1990

Coming into force: 12th March 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ^f00001 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department in accordance with section 7(6) of the 1984 Act, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the A12 Trunk Road (Eastern Avenue East, Havering) (Prohibition of Use of Gap in Central Reservation) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 12th March 1990.

In this Order —

• “Eastern Avenue East” means that length of the London-Great Yarmouth Trunk Road (A12) in the London Borough of Havering known as Eastern Avenue East; and

• “central reservation” means that part of Eastern Avenue East which separates the two carriageways of Eastern Avenue East for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road.

Save as provided in article 4 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding eastwards in Eastern Avenue East to enter or proceed through the gap in the central reservation opposite Park Boulevard.

Nothing in article 3 above shall apply:

• (a) in respect of any vehicle being used for fire brigade, police or ambulance purposes or by the London Borough of Havering in pursuance of their statutory powers and duties; or

• (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
