The Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1990

Made: 26th April 1990

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 195(2) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1990.

In this Order “the Act” means the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

Subsection (1) of section 30 of the Act, subsection (2) of that section, insofar as it amends section 83(1) of the Local Government Act 1972[^f00002], and section 32 of the Act shall come into force on 3rd May 1990.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 3rd May 1990 the following sections of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989–

• section 30(1) (declaration of acceptance of office in Scotland)

• section 30(2) (declaration of acceptance of office in England and Wales) for the purposes of section 83(1) of the Local Government Act 1972

• and

• section 32 (anonymity in reports on investigations by Local Commissioners, or in Scotland, the Commissioner).
