Made: 12th April 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument inexercise of powers conferred by section 106 (3) of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The City of Westminster (Ladbroke Grove Canal Bridge Widening and Harrow Road Junction Improvement) Scheme 1988 is hereby confirmed with modification.

The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as“the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme withits accompanying plan are deposited at the offices of the Department ofTransport, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY and at the offices of theCouncil of the City of Westminster, One-Stop Services, First Floor,Westminster City Hall, Victoria Street, London SW1 and at 313 HarrowRoad, London W9.

The Scheme will become operative on the date onwhich notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordancewith paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

This Instrument may be cited as the City of Westminster (Ladbroke Grove Canal Bridge Widening and Harrow Road Junction Improvement) Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1991.

THE SCHEDULE — THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (LADBROKE GROVE CANAL BRIDGE WIDENING AND HARROW ROAD JUNCTION IMPROVEMENT) SCHEME 1988

THE LORD MAYOR AND CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (hereinafterreferred to as“The Corporation”) make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106 ofthe Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:—

THE SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEME — Plan and Specification of the Grand Union Canal Bridge

Location

The bridge is located on the border of the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea at Ladbroke Grove and crosses theGrand Union Canal. It will be on the same site as the existing bridgewhich carries Ladbroke Grove over the Grand Union Canal but will bewidened by 3.85 metres. (Existing bridge 13.55 metres; new bridge 17.4metres overall).
