Made: 21st May 1991

Coming into force: 24th June 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise ofpowers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to constructalong the routes described in the schedule to this Order shall becometrunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.

The centre line of each of the new trunk roads is indicated by aheavy black line on the deposited plan.

In this Order—

This Order shall come into force on 24th June 1991 and may be citedas the A23 Trunk Road (Pease Pottage — Handcross Trunk Road andSlip Road) Order 1991.

SCHEDULE — ROUTES OF THE NEW TRUNK ROADS

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes between Pease Pottageand Handcross, both in the County of West Sussex, as follows—
