Made: 9th July 1991

Coming into force: 7th October 1991

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Security, in conjunction with the Treasury[^f00001] and in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5(1) and 24(1) of the Child Benefit Act 1975[^f00002] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Child Benefitand Social Security (Fixing and Adjustment of Rates) Regulations 1976 by providing that the weekly rate of child benefit in respect of an only, elder or eldest child shall be increased to £9.25and in respect of other children to £7.50.
