Made: 30th September 1991

Laid before Parliament: 9th October 1991

Coming into force: 1st November 1991

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 72(1)(b) and (3) of the Broadcasting Act 1990[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

1

This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Local Delivery Services) (Amendment) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 1st November 1991.

2

The Schedule to the Broadcasting (Local Delivery Services) Order 1990[^f00002] shall be amended as follows:

  • “the DBS service” means any DBS services which are provided by the Commission in accordance with Part II of Schedule 11 to the 1990 Act;

, and

Signed

Kenneth Baker — One of Her Majesty’s Principal Secretaries of State — 30th September 1991

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order corrects two errors made in the Broadcasting (Local Delivery Services) Order 1990 (S.I. 1990/2389). Article 2replaces the definition of “DBS service” so as to refer to the provision of such a service by the Independent Television Commission under the transitional provisions in Schedule 11 to the Broadcasting Act 1990 instead of a definition which relied on repealed provisions in the Cable and Broadcasting Act 1984 (c. 46). Article 2(b) omits the word “local” which is superfluous to the reference in paragraph 2(f) of Part II of the Schedule to the 1990 Order to any national radio service.
