The Secretary of State for Education and Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 218(5)(c) and (6)(c) and 232(5) of the Education Reform Act 1988[^f00001], hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Teachers) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 1st November 1991.

Amendment

Regulation 7 of the Education (Teachers) Regulations 1989[^f00002] shall be amended as follows by the insertion after paragraph (b) of the following—

(c) by the governing body of a school as workers with children or young persons;

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Education (Teachers) Regulations 1989: the definition of “relevant employment” in regulation 7 is amended to cover the employment by the governing bodies of schools of workers with children and young persons.
