Made: 25th February 1991

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 8(1)(b) and (1A) and 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 1st April 1991.

Abolition of Authorities

The following District Health Authorities are hereby abolished—

Establishment and names of new Authorities

For each of the districts determined by the National Health Service (Determination of Districts) Order 1981[^f00002] and specified in column (1) in the Schedule to this Order there is hereby established a District Health Authority which shall be known by the name specified in relation to that district in column (2) of that Schedule.

Amendment of National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1990

In consequence of articles 2 and 3 of this Order the National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1990[^f00003] shall be amended as follows:

Leeds District Leeds District Health Authority
North East Warwickshire District North East Warwickshire District Health Authority

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order abolishes from 1st April 1991 the District Health Authorities named in article 2, and establishes the three new District Health Authorities specified in the Schedule to the Order. The National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1990 is amended to reflect these changes.

The changes made to District Health Authorities in this Order are reflected in changes to the districts of the abolished Health Authorities made by the National Health Service (Determination of Districts) Order 1991.
