The Lords of Council and Session, under and by virtue of the powers conferred on them by section 59 of the Adoption (Scotland) Act 1978([^f00001]), section 32 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Act 1971([^f00002]) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, having approved draft rules submitted to them by the Sheriff Court Rules Council in accordance with section 34 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Act 1971 do hereby enact and declare:

In paragraph 22—

(1A) When the report of the curator ad litem, in respect of a child who is free for adoption, has been received by the court, the Sheriff may order a diet of hearing to be fixed.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Act of Sederunt)

This Act of Sederunt amends the Act of Sederunt (Adoption of Children) 1984 to make provision for a hearing to be fixed in an application for an adoption order under section 12 of the Adoption (Scotland) Act 1978 in respect of a child freed for adoption by an order under section 18 of that Act; and for intimation of the hearing.
