Made: 30th January 1992

Laid before Parliament: 31st January 1992

Coming into force: 1st August 1992

Now therefore the Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 17 of the Education Reform Act 1988 hereby make the following regulations in the terms of the said draft:

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These regulations disapply the National Curriculum in science in the case of one cohort of pupils only in key stage 4 who are studying for the GCSE in all three of the following science subjects: physics, chemistry and biology. They will only affect such pupils who follow the relevant two-year courses beginning in the 1992/93 school year.
